1940 Born Rotterdam, The Netherlands
1940- 1945 The Second World War, bombardment of Rotterdam and German occupation of the Netherlands
1946- 1958 Primary and Secondary Education, Rotterdam and Arnhem, The Netherlands
1958- 1959 Joined the Dutch Merchant Navy, trip to South America: Venezuela, Colombia, West Indies
1959- 1961 Compulsory military training, served in the Netherlands, Germany and France
1961-1963 Rejoined the Dutch Merchant Navy, 6 trips around the world, was also based in Singapore on the Far East/ USA run
1963 Arrived in New Zealand as an assisted immigrant
1963-1976 Worked at a variety of occupations in the hotel, paper and dairy industries
1969 Commenced painting
1981-82 Mural Project in Christchurch Womens Hospital
1984-85 Mural Projects Christchurch City Council
1984-86 Stage Designer - Actor, Free Theatre, Christchurch
1995 Received assistance from the Arts Council of NZ, Toi Aotearoa
1998 Recipient First Prize, 1998 CoCA Award
